1. Why we collect and use your personal data:

The CDA is collecting and processing your personal data to support you in developing housing that meets the needs of your community. The goal of the CDA is to assist dioceses and parishes in providing homes—typically, though not exclusively, on their own land or property—as a response to the housing crisis and as a tangible expression of the Gospel in addressing human needs.  

We will collect your personal data – your contact details – so that we (The CDA) can stay in touch with you and continue to provide you with our services.

2. Type of personal data collected:

We collect and use personal data under the lawful basis of contract, UK GDPR Article 6(1)b – “processing is necessary…in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering a contract”. The personal data we will collect includes:  

  • Your name (title, first name and family name)  

  • The role you hold within your parish (role name, parish name) 

  • Your contact details (email address, phone number)  

3. Who we share your information with:  

We may share your personal data with trusted third parties, but only as necessary to fulfil our services or as agreed upon with you. This sharing may occur under the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may share your data with third-party service providers who assist us in delivering our services, such as our Oversight Committee and chosen project evaluators.

  • Legal Obligations: We may also share your information if required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.

  • With Your Consent: We may share your personal data with third parties if you have provided your explicit consent for us to do so. Examples are, architects, consultants, other professionals working in housing.

4. Your personal data will not be sent to countries outside the UK/EEA.  

Your personal data be retained on systems held within the UK/EEA that comply with UK GDPR requirements.  

5. Your rights  

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:  

  • The right to be informed about any data we hold about you;  

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which we hold about you;  

  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;  

  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data (if applicable);  

  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;  

  • The right to object to the processing of your personal data (if applicable).
